CBT is not confirmed
As of 24 August 2026, NTA had not released the NEET-UG 2027 bulletin or an official notice announcing a computer-based test. The latest bulletin, for NEET-UG 2026, describes a single-day, single-shift pen-and-paper examination using OMR.
You do not have to pick a side in the rumour. Keep preparing for the format NTA has published, and add enough screen practice that a later CBT announcement would not unsettle you.

What the latest bulletin tells us
Physics, Chemistry and Biology remain the tested subjects. The published 2026 paper has 180 questions for 720 marks, with +4 for a correct response, −1 for an incorrect response and 0 for a question left unanswered. Its delivery mode is pen and paper with OMR.
Those facts describe 2026. They do not settle 2027. The examination mode for 2027 becomes official only when NTA says so in the bulletin or a public notice.

What would feel different on a computer?
The science does not change, but the small actions around each question do. You read long stems on screen, select an option, watch a visible timer and move through a question palette. Rough calculations stay on paper while the question remains on screen.
None of these skills is difficult in isolation. They become distracting when the interface is unfamiliar. A few short screen sessions each week can remove that novelty without pretending that CBT has been announced.

How to practise while the bulletin is pending

Keep taking paper-format mocks
OMR accuracy, booklet handling and page-based pacing still belong in your preparation because pen and paper is the latest official mode.

Add short screen sessions
Solve 20–40 questions on screen a few times a week. Learn to move between the question and rough work without losing your place.

Use the palette consistently
Decide what answered, marked and unseen mean in your practice interface. The controls should feel ordinary long before the examination.

Keep looking at why marks were lost
A change of format will not fix a concept gap, a rushed reading error or an unsupported guess.

Read the 2027 bulletin when it arrives
That is the point to change the balance between OMR and screen practice. Until then, a rumour is not an instruction.

Keep OMR current. Make the screen ordinary.

Use the NEET NTA admission bulletin and public-notices pages. Coaching posts, procurement tenders and social-media claims do not confirm the examination mode.
