A 650+ target is useful only when it changes what you do this week. It is not a prediction of rank, admission, or college: those outcomes depend on the paper, competition, category, domicile, counselling rules, and seat availability in the relevant year. Treat 650 as a demanding performance target and build the controllable inputs underneath it—syllabus coverage, recall quality, question selection, accuracy, and test-day execution.

The plan below starts with evidence rather than optimism. You will establish a clean baseline, translate the target into a workable error budget, cycle every chapter through learning and retrieval, and use full-length tests to expose gaps. Translate 650 into an error budget, not a slogan

Under the familiar +4 for a correct response, -1 for an incorrect response, and 0 for an unattempted response, many combinations can produce 650. Another paper may require a different attempt profile because your confidence distribution will differ. A chapter is not complete after a lecture or first reading. Close it through a four-step loop: understand from one primary source, retrieve the structure without looking, solve representative questions, and revisit errors after a delay. Schedule the first short revision within a few days and a second retrieval later in the week or following week. The exact interval matters less than ensuring that every learned chapter reappears before it fades.

Plan six working days and one review block rather than seven identical days. At the weekly review, compare planned chapters with chapters actually closed, count unresolved errors, and choose the next week from evidence. Carrying forward ten unfinished tasks is not a plan; reduce the list, finish the highest-value items, and explicitly defer the rest. This protects revision time from endless first-pass study.

Give each subject a different job

Biology usually rewards precise recall and careful reading, so anchor it to the officially prescribed syllabus and your core textbook material. Mark only what you repeatedly confuse, and retrieve tables or processes from memory before reopening the page.

Physics needs a compact concept-and-application chain. For each chapter, know the model, assumptions, units, signs, limiting cases, and a small set of reusable equations. Chemistry should be split by task: numerical setup and units for physical chemistry, mechanism and transformation logic for organic chemistry, and disciplined source-based recall for inorganic chemistry. Equal clock time across subjects is rarely sensible; allocate time according to current score leakage and retention needs.

Progress from chapter tests to full-paper control

Use three test layers. Chapter tests verify a newly closed topic; mixed tests check whether you can select the right method when the chapter label is absent; full-syllabus mocks train endurance, sequencing, and risk control. Do not wait for perfect syllabus completion before mixed testing. Early mixed sets reveal forgetting and interference that isolated chapter practice hides.

Review should take as seriously as the attempt. First redo every incorrect and uncertain question without seeing the solution. Then inspect the official or trusted explanation and write the decision point you missed. Finally, schedule a short re-test of those concepts. If a mock consumes three hours but produces no changed revision list, its diagnostic value has been discarded.

Raise the floor before chasing the ceiling

Near the upper score bands, eliminating preventable losses is often more controllable than hunting obscure facts. Track repeated mechanisms: negative-sign mistakes, ignoring words such as except or incorrect, premature rounding, confusing similar biological terms, or changing an answer without new evidence. Create a pre-submission check tied to your own error history rather than a generic checklist.

Use a decision rule for doubtful questions. Attempt when you can derive the answer or eliminate options for defensible reasons; leave it when the choice is essentially random under negative marking. During practice, record the reason for changing any answer. A change supported by a corrected calculation or recalled fact is different from a change driven by anxiety.

Run the final phase as rehearsal, not reinvention

As the exam approaches, shift the balance toward cumulative retrieval, mixed practice, and full-paper simulation. Keep resources stable. Revise error notes, marked core material, formulas, diagrams, and high-frequency personal weaknesses. New resources are justified only when they solve a defined gap better than your current source; novelty alone is not a reason.

Simulate the conditions you can control: start time, uninterrupted sitting, section order, bubbling or interface habits applicable to the current exam, food, and sleep schedule. Use a rolling median of several mocks rather than celebrating one peak score or panicking over one dip. A stable upward range with fewer execution errors is stronger evidence than a single 650. No practice score guarantees the real result, but a repeatable process makes the target operational.
